Atheists Fulfill Scripture: “Why Won’t God Heal Amputees?” / “Why Does God Hate Amputees?” | True Freethinker

Mariano is brilliant. Here is a great article he has posted that deals with theodicy. My favorit e point he raises is extremely quotable:

Their non-sequitur is to expect, or demand, that God be as singularly interested in that which is of ultimate concern to them as are they. God must “care” about our physical bodies and heal them on demand or else God is not “love” and if God is not love then God is not—see: "Love" and "Hate" - Defining Terminology.

I know for sure that this is the wrong attitude to take of life and of God. Isn't it arrogant to presume to tell God what He ought to do and to suggest a parameters as to what form God's love should take!? I mean in any realtionship no one want to hear: "If you love me, you would..." No one likes it because we know there is now an attempt to manipulate us. Bad move. Unfortunately, it works on many of us. No way does it work on God.
