  1. Both his daughter and son would have been born prior to his 1981 "conversion". I found it interesting that Lee didn't even mention them when he was discussing his relationship with his wife as a possible motive for his faith.

I think it's probably safe to say that those three relationships were probably a bigger factor than he let's on.

No way to know for sure what was going through his mind at the time, but it's suspicious that he didn't even mention them.

  2. I've heard Strobel talk about his daughter numerous times. I also know his children were children when he became a Christian. When I went and heard him live, Strobel said his daughter became a Christian due in large part to his conversion. She saw the change in him and told her parents that she wanted the same thing for herself. You really have a suspicious mind and you are searching for a reason why he found somethings you missed. It's not too late.

  3. No silly, I didn't say he NEVER mentions his daughter, I said he DIDN'T mention his Daughter (or new born Son) at all when he claimed that his desire to maintain his relationship with his wife (i.e. family) played no role in his "conversion". I find that doubtful and his not mentioning his children IS suspicious.

  4. I know what you said...just because I think you are reaching for a reason to discount his testimony does not mean that I did not understand the rationalizations you try to shoehorn. Strobel did not claim that his desire to maintain his family had anything to do with his conversion. He said he tried to find evidence and reason against Christianity to "save" his wife. On top of that he said that he didn't want to have any part of it and thought that it was the end of his marriage at more than one point. Of course family had a lot to do with his experiences but not the way you are trying to push it.

  5. I know what you said...

I'm not sure you did, given that you made a number of points that pertained in no way to what I said.

Strobel did not claim that his desire to maintain his family had anything to do with his conversion.

No duh. That's sort of the basis of my point.

Of course family had a lot to do with his experiences...

I'm glad we agree. But one would not get that his children had ANYTHING to do with it from his comments in the video.

  6. I didn't think that he was saying that his family had nothing to do which Strobel coming to Jesus. Obviously, God used his family to bring Strobel to himself. Why did you assume he was saying that his children had nothing to do with his conversion? I didn't get that at all. I'm not surprised given you don't see how any of the points I raised show that Strobel thinks that his family has nothing to do with how He came to Jesus.
