When you see all the verses Babinski lays out and especially in their cultural context, you realize it's a much better explanation that the authors of the Bible had some primitive ideas about cosmology. The very few verses that can be read with "modern eyes" just don't hold up to the weight of the rest of the evidence and are fully compatible with the flat-earth interpretation. You can't say the same in reverse though.

BenBenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14479224236264150172noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1767816867480783958.post-90931896849678603692011-02-17T00:01:08.180-08:002011-02-17T00:01:08.180-08:00Hey thanks for pointing out that you have wrote mo...Hey thanks for pointing out that you have wrote more information on the Cosmology of the Bible. I realize that you think you have good reason for the position you have taken but there are many scholars who don't share your conclusions. I will be looking at the book however.mmcelhaneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07567242628894011776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1767816867480783958.post-11286732396303275212011-02-16T20:23:04.262-08:002011-02-16T20:23:04.262-08:00The Barnes and Nobles near you are also probably c...The Barnes and Nobles near you are also probably carrying copies.Edwardtbabinskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13036816926421936940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1767816867480783958.post-9856527402904826582011-02-16T20:21:45.796-08:002011-02-16T20:21:45.796-08:00Hi Marcus, My blog post was about Columbus and med...Hi Marcus, My blog post was about Columbus and medieval geographical notions of the world, which as I explained were mixed with theological notions from the Bible.

On the flat earth idea held by biblical authors I wrote a chapter on "The Cosmology of the Bible" that was published last June in the book, The Christian Delusion. You can read what I wrote about that topic in that chapter. Your library may have a copy of the book, or be able to obtain one for you via interlibrary loan. You can also read the chapter or at least peruse it a bit if you spend some time in Barnes and Noble since the ones near me are carrying copies.Edwardtbabinskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13036816926421936940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1767816867480783958.post-80573458162082325852011-02-15T21:51:28.730-08:002011-02-15T21:51:28.730-08:00I don 't.I don 't.mmcelhaneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07567242628894011776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1767816867480783958.post-79371953182961304322011-02-15T21:50:52.983-08:002011-02-15T21:50:52.983-08:00if you call it "substantiation"if you call it "substantiation"mmcelhaneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07567242628894011776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1767816867480783958.post-581693014802726642011-02-15T16:01:48.104-08:002011-02-15T16:01:48.104-08:00If you click on the many links in the article you ...If you click on the many links in the article you will see where he substantiates the claims you say he doesn't.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
