Amazon Kindle Fire impressions (video) -- Engadget

I have heard about Amazon Kindle Fire - Amazon's answer to the tablet wars currently raging. I like the device. There are two things I don't like about it.

a. There are few hardware I/O ports.
b. Only has Android 2.1 when I really would have liked to see at least Android 3.0 in a new Tablet.

Interactive Infographic: Trends in Higher Education - Education - GOOD

Here is a really cool infographic you have to try out. It's interactive and graphs the number of degrees earned in multiple fields comparing 1998 and 2008. I find it really interesting because I earned my first degree in 1997. Play around with it. The graphic even breaks the information down by gender!

And Man Created God | Dr. Claude Mariottini – Professor of Old Testament

Dr Mariottini has posted an article about Robert Banks' interesting book, And Man Created God: Is God a Human Invention? (Oxford: Lion Hudson, 2011). I'm highly interested in the article because today we have so many attacks on Christianity alleging that the God revealed to us in Scripture is nothing more than a product of human imagination and wishes. It's nice that there is a book out there that goes up against such lies. On the article Mariano posted:

People need God, but only the true God will satisfy the basic needs of humanity. The prophets of the Old Testament recognized that man-made gods have no power to transform the life of an individual. Jeremiah said those who went after worthless things became worthless themselves (Jeremiah 2:5).
Secular people and those who have created their own gods need to learn that the worship of man-made gods leads to “loss of sanity and humanity.”
