Outbreak! : History’s Deadliest Pandemics [infographic] | Daily Infographic

6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8All these are the beginning of sorrows. - Matthew 24:6-8

Steven Pinker Argues That People Are Now Less Violent

Steven Pinker

Dr Steven Pinker does not believe that human race is becoming more violent but instead argues that violence is decreasing. I think he's completely crazy. However he has arguments and has written papers and given lectures defending his position.

Here is a short presentation:

Here is a longer presentation:

I'm planning a longer response but in the meantime here is rebuttal to his conclusions.

Refuting Steven Pinker’s “A History of Violence” by Jonathan Shockley
Delusions of peace by John Gray

I think that this actually illustrates a passage in the Old Testament
13 “From the least to the greatest, all are greedy for gain; prophets and priests alike, all practice deceit. 14 They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. ‘Peace, peace,’ they say, when there is no peace. 15 Are they ashamed of their detestable conduct? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush. So they will fall among the fallen; they will be brought down when I punish them,” says the LORD. - Jeremiah 6:13-15
Sure God was speaking to Jeremiah's contemporaires but it sure matches today also.
