I read about a great debate on the Alpha Omega Ministries blog. It's between Doug Wilson and Christopher Hitchens on October 30, 2008. The audio is below. I thought that Hitchens did not say anything new from what I have heard him say before. It's hard to talk to someone like Hitchens because he is the living embodiment of what the Bible says. He said that he rejects God because if there was a God that deity would be unassailable and unaccountable. He understands what is at stake. If there was a God he said that he sees no reason or right to question God's actions or purposes. I agree. Hitchens cannot accept being out of control and a supreme being being in control of him. He can't trust that being to do what is best for him and the universe because he does not like what he sees in the world. All else he argues is a rationalization to get around his own accountability to God. I disagree with Hitchens about what the Bible says. He said that he does not like to be told that he does not have divine information because it was not revealed to him. I think Dr. Wilson did a great job interacting with him.
