The BOBA Digest: Dan Barker and the Confusing Author | True Freethinker

Dan BarkerImage by Matti Á. via FlickrSome of my favorite posts from Mariano Grinbank is when he addresses the nonsense of Dan Barker. Mariano is addressing the following argument:

His latest talking point is to best expressed via a syllogism:
1) The Bible states that “God is not the author of confusion.”
2) The Bible has caused a lot of confusion.
3) Therefore, God is not the Bible’s author.
As much as on the surface this syllogism appears airtight; there are various fallacies packages within.
Mariano then goes through and systematically deconstructs Barker's argument. It is a thing of beauty. Follow the link to read Mariano's post.
