Personally, I think the criticisms from Jodie Foster, James Cameron, Martin Scorsese, and others against Marvel Movies in particular and superhero movies in general are unfounded. They are movies in their own right and being a fan that likes them and finds meaning in them, and entertaining characters that speak to the human condition, I am offended that they pretend that these movies that they don't like are not worthy of being considered movies just because they don't like them. And on the other hand appreciate Kevin Smith's, Robert Downey Jr's, and James Gunn's respectful responses to them. Better men than I.

Kevin Smith on Martin Scorsese's criticism of Marvel movies
