Chris Sims has written an amazing article that puts the recent protestations against the new DC reboot by pointing out that there were plenty of hate letters written against Batman: Year One. Ironically, today that storyline is considered one of the best comic book stories...ever! The article even reprints some of those letters. The story has affected each and every Batman (and influenced the genre) story since. Back then, few people thought that it would ever be adapted into high quality movie due out in a few weeks.
