Answering Muslims: Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani Goes Free

Praise God!!!! This is excellent news Iran was going to sentence Pastor Nadarkhani to death for apostasy from Islam to Christianity.  He's been convicted of evangelizing Muslims, but he's been released for time served. This is proof that if Christians stand with our brother and sisters who are being persecuted we can actually help them.

Answering Muslims: Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani Sentenced to Death for Apostasy in Iran

Well, I was hoping that things would have turned out differently but Iran has sentenced Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani to death because he converted from Islam to Christianity. Technically, he most likely would have been condemned to death no matter what he had converted to from Islam. And given the information that David Wood shares in the following video, I really should not be that surprised:

Follow the link below for more information about Iran's ruling on Pastor Nadarkhani's life.

Answering Muslims: Iranian Actress Marzieh Vafamehr Sentenced to 90 Lashes and One Year in Prison for Criticizing Iran's Attitude Towards Artists

David Wood has posted some information I was not aware of, as he often does.

Now Muslims have sentenced an Iranian actress to 90 lashes and a year in prison, all because she criticized Iran's harsh treatment of artists. And the Iranian authorities simply don't understand how they've confirmed the criticism.

Let's see what she is going to jail for and what she's getting lashed for!

The Dunamis Word: Islam, Submission With No Peace Pt. 7

You may have heard of Pastor Yusef Nadarkhani, who faces execution  in Iran for converting to Christianity from Islam. This man is willing to die for his faith. He is quoted as saying:

When asked to repent of his "apostasy" of becoming a Christian, this was the Pastor's response:
"Repent means to return. What should I return to? To the blasphemy that I had before my faith in Christ?" ~ Pastor Youcef

Now that is the attitude and commitment of a born-again Christian. I disagree with the laws in Iran. He should not be put to death. Everyone should be allowed to see and view all the evidences and then come to a decision as to what they believe is true. Everyone should have that right. At the same time everyone should have the right to disagree, say they disagree, and tell why they disagree...no matter if I agree or not. We can't go and force Iran not to execute him. Our government may not even be able to convince Iran's officials not to execute him. They should keep trying. But what I think the United States should do is offer to give Nadarkhani, his family, and congregation asylum if they want it.

Thanks, Elder Harvey Burnett for posting this!

Answering Muslims: Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani Facing Imminent Execution in Iran for Apostasy and Evangelism

David Wood posted the following:

While CAIR complains about Islamophobia (in a country where Muslims are free to proclaim their faith from the rooftops), a Christian pastor is about to be executed by the Iranian government for leaving Islam and preaching to Muslims.

A news article is also posted, along with the following video explaining how Islam views apostasy and apostates

Beggars All: Reformation And Apologetics: Submit or Die! Early Islamic Da'wa

This is an interesting  article. This post has a clip from Iran in Farsi. She is talking about the
Letter of Omar, the second Khalif of Sunni Islam, to Yazdegird III, the Shah (King of Persia)
The post translates what the woman in the clip says:

It is interesting how in history that the name of Allah is again proclaimed and spread. This historical document of the letter of Omar, the second Khalif of the Muslims, to Yazdegird III, the Sassanian King of Persia, and then the letter of Yazdegird back to Omar, after the battle of Qadesiyeh and before the battle of Nahavand, that took place over a period of about four months.

The video gives the letters. This post not only translates the video so you can understand what she is saying but we get historical insight into how Islam spread into Iran. We also gain an understanding of why Omar, the second Khalif of Sunni Islam, is so disliked in Iran. This is a great post!

Dr. Claude Mariottini - Professor of Old Testament: The Tomb of Esther and Mordecai

Dr Mariottini posted a link to a news article that describes plans some people have in Iran to destroy the tomb of Queen Esther and her cousin Mordecai in response to “alleged Israeli plans to damage the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.” Dr Mariottini further quoted:

Iranians believe that Esther and Mordecai were responsible for the massacre of 75 thousand Iranians in a single day, an event which the Jews celebrate at Purim. According to Iranians “the annual Jewish festival of Purim is celebrated by Jews to commemorate this ‘Iranian Holocaust.’”

This is the most interesting part of the post to me because I didn't know that there was even such a viewpoint in Iran existed regarding Purim. According to the book of Esther, those 75,000 citizens of the Persian Empire dided because the Jews defended themselves the day that it was decreed that all Jews were supposed to be killed. This was in the Persian Empire and both the attempted extermination and the Jews' defending themselves were decreed by King Xerxes - emperor of the Persian Empire. Goes to show that people can view the same incident 100% opposite.

Promiscuous women make the earth move says senior cleric | News.com.au

One of the Spiritual leaders of Iran said the following:

"Many women who do not dress modestly ... lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which (consequently) increases earthquakes.'' - Iranian Ayatollah Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi
Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi of Iran was quoted to have said the above last week. I didn't know how to respond. I mean the implications given the 4 large earthquakes in the last four months., the implication is not much different than Pat Roberston's Haiti-Made-a-deal-with-the-devil reason for the Haitian earthquake. In other words Sedighi seemed to be saying that nations who have earthquakes are more wicked than nations that don't have earthquakes. It's just as wrong as when Roberston said his statement.

Of course Feminists have gotten really angry. One such women has named Jen McCreight has decided to take him up on the challenge. She has proposed an experiment on her blog Blag Hag.

Sedighi claims that not dressing modestly causes earthquakes. If so, we should be able to test this claim scientifically. You all remember the homeopathy overdose?
Time for a Boobquake.
On Monday, April 26th, I will wear the most cleavage-showing shirt I own. Yes, the one usually reserved for a night on the town. I encourage other female skeptics to join me and embrace the supposed supernatural power of their breasts. Or short shorts, if that’s your preferred form of immodesty. With the power of our scandalous bodies combined, we should surely produce an earthquake. If not, I’m sure Sedighi can come up with a rational explanation for why the ground didn’t rumble. And if we really get through to him, maybe it’ll be one involving plate tectonics. - quoted from her blog

And from an article:

Called “BoobQuake”, Blag Hag’s event calls for women to dress immodestly (but within bounds), in shirts revealing cleavage or in short shorts, in an attempt to bring down the wrath of Allah and cause an earthquake.

I have a problem with this. I agree that Sedighi needs to be answered, but i don't th8ink that this is the way. You don't combat ignorant stupidity with immodesty. Immodesty is another form of ignorance. People dress immodestly and act inappropriately when they don't understand their own worth and what God says about them and His purpose for them. I did find news that there was an earthquake today in Taiwan today on Monday, April 26 - "Boobquake".

According to the Associated Press, a 6.5-magnitude “earthquake struck off the southeast coast of Taiwan on Monday, causing buildings to sway briefly but no casualties or damage. The temblor was felt at the site of a massive landslide in northern Taiwan but did not hamper rescue efforts.” News of the quake has, shall we say, shaken up the event’s Facebook page. One member wrote, “The Taiwan EQ doesn’t count because it happened before the official start of the experiment.” Another surmised: “Our girls are powerful but as half the planet wasn’t even out of bed yet, I seriously doubting [sic] the correlation!” Will Earth lose its cruelly ironic edge? Tomorrow or the next day’s horrendous earthquake will surely tell.

I'm not going to make a comment other than to say that I don't think for a minute that promiscuous and immodest women cause earthquakes. If they did wouldn't places where prostitution is legal be hot beds for big earthquakes? I think that the fact that there aren't frequent earthquakes in Nevada or in Holland makes upping immodesty for a day unnecessary to show that Sedighi is wrong!

Better is that Jesus disagrees with Sedighi

1Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2Jesus answered, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish." - Luke 13: 1-4

And we must not forget what the Bible says about modesty!

3Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. 4Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. - 1 Peter 3:3-4

Dying for Democracy

I have been hearing about the protests in Iran concerning their elections. it appears they have been fixed and people are not happy about it. They are activcely protesting and and people are dying. They are dying for democracy.

Here is the text posted on YouTube with the Video

Iranian girl , Neda and her father attend a peaceful rally in Tehran before things took a tragic turn.

The girl, known as Neda and thought to be 16, has become both a martyr and rallying cry for those opposed to the Iranian hardline government.

"Neda, your death will not be in vain," reads one message on Twitter, where her name is being used as a call sign for anti-government bloggers and is one of the site's most mentioned words.

The deaths follow threats from Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Friday that fresh opposition unrest would be met with "blood, violence and chaos".

Iranian state television is reporting that 10 people were killed and more than 100 wounded in yesterday's violence in Tehran.
Foreign media are banned from reporting on non-official events in Iran, where the state censors and regulates the information seen by its citizens and those abroad.

But a video clip showing a girl known as Neda, who is thought to have been no older than 16, bleeding to death while frantic attempts are made to save her life has been broadcast across the globe via the internet.

Reports from the country say the teenager had been watching Saturday's protests with her father when she was shot by Iran's militia.

A message posted with the original footage on YouTube alleges she was intentionally shot in the chest.

"I am a doctor, so I rushed to try to save her," the video's poster said.

"But the impact of the gunshot was so fierce that the bullet had blasted inside the victim's chest, and she died in less than two minutes.

"The protests were going on about 1 kilometre away in the main street and some of the protesting crowd were running from tear gas used among them, towards Salehi St.

"The film is shot by my friend who was standing beside me. Please let the world know."

Neda, whose name means "voice" in Farsi, has been hailed as a martyr by those outraged at the brutality of the Iranian government's response to the election protests.

Clashes broke out soon after the presidential election on June 12, which many supporters of Iranian opposition parties claim was rigged to re-elect the hardline Islamist government.

The story of Neda's death has resonated with protesters across the world.

In America, pictures of her face have appeared on posters at protests against the Iranian government, hailing her as a martyr, US media reports.

Anti-government bloggers using Twitter to thwart the authorities' attempts to stop them communicating have started using her name as a call sign, making it one of the most mentioned words on the site.
