The God Delusion Debate « Church History Blog

I can't believe I missed this debate. I've heard the debate John Lennox did against Richard Dawkins at Oxford but I don't remember seeing this one that took place on American soil. Follow the link to get to watch it and look at the commentary on it. The debate centered on Dawkin's book The God Delusion.

Atheism is Dead: Haiti and the Hypocrisy of Christian Theology - Richard Dawkins

Yesterday, I wrote an article responding to a blog post on the Stand To Reason blog by Greg Koukl responding to an article by Richarcd Dawkins. Dawkins asserted that Pat Roberston statement  implying that the Haitians deserved the earthquake was in line with Christian  doctrine for explaining why bad things happen to people. I disagree. Fortunately, Mariano wrote a brilliant post explaining why Dawkins is wrong by stepping through Dawkins article. Dawkins' worldview does not answer the question and Pat Roberston answers the question as to the source of the calamities befalling Haiti. Read Mariano's article at the link below.

Atheism is Dead: Friedrich Nietzsche Nails Richard Dawkins

Mariano has posted a great article exploring Nietzsche's published thoughts about the logical conclusions of what Atheism  gets you. It's well-written and worthy of consideration. Nietzsche was an atheist, but he thought through the decision he was making and what it really meant! I think that is why he lost his mind. He truly saw what happens when a man totally disconnects from God. It isn't really pretty. So why don't more atheists loose their minds? One word...Grace. Even though they let go of God, God does not always let go of them. I don't think they truly see what Nietzsche saw. If they did they would abandon their silly worldviews, but they have convinced themselves that they are good without God.

Atheism is Dead: Atheist Circular Alogic - “Who Designed the Designer?”

Anyone who has heard or read atheistic arguments against the existence of God has no doubt heard of this one that Mariano readily and easily rebuts. The argument says that there is no God because if everything needs a beginning we have no way to explain how God came into being. I love the way Mariano deals with this. You owe it to yourself to check it out if you want to know what the answer is.

The Amazing Arrogance of Richard Dawkins

Anyone who has been reading my blog knows I love James White's work. One of the things I like most is that he can disagree with a fellow Christian brother, respect him, and not throw him under the bus or consign him to hell. Although he disagrees with William Lane Craig on several points he does recognize the fact that either either he or Craig could dismantle all of Richard Dawkin's sorry arguments and expose his errors. Follow the link below to find out what James White has to say about Dawkins refusal to debate those who could challenge him on philosophical, historical, Biblical, and scientific levels. I really think Dawkinsm is scared. Against William Lane Craig, Darwin would be no help!
