New Atheist in the Park — by Backwoods Boom Town Productions | True Freethinker
Mariano has posted an interesting comic strip that I can really relate to. It's about an obnoxious atheist railing against a person reading the Bible alone in the park. IT is hilarious because almost every single argument I have ever heard atheists make, were used in this strip! The atheist would not let the Christian get a single word in. I realize that many atheist would bristle at this because they don't think their personal attitudes nor the ones that they know are this closed minded or obnoxious. Let's be frank. We all have to admit that we know closed-minded obnoxious people who are atheists and we know some who are Christians. Bottom line. However, this strip is worthwhile because you can see how accusatory some atheist arguments are and how some people are not interested in dialogue but drama with no substance to back up their viewpoint. I also think the art is fantastic. I sure hope Backwoods Boom Town Productions releases more.

ReplyDeleteTalk about being butthurt. Rather than arguing against the comic, you respond with a picture that isn't even true. Christians don't think they're oppressed at all.

ReplyDelete1. This comic is 100% inaccurate. Not all Atheists are fat, whiny, pigs, who will run up to somebody and start screaming how they're an idiot for believing in God. It just doesn't happen. This is a pure piece of trash comic, and is the farthest thing from truth.
2. Again, same thing with the dumb meme you linked to. Its a completely, 100% false portrayal of Atheists and Atheism. If any Atheists ever did/have done that, which I know they haven't, I would side with you on them being complete morons who need to learn to shut up. However, until that happens, I think you should just keep your idiotic comics to yourself.

DeleteWhy is the Atheist portrayed as such a bully in this comic? Atheists are the minority in this world. There are more religious people than there are Atheists. Atheists are more likely to be bullied and looked down upon. Not the other way around. I doubt anyone would react in such a gross way if they encountered a person reading a bible in public. They most likely wouldn't care, and just go about their business.
