I saw the movie and it should have been called “L for Liberal” as they besmirch conservatives—painting them in Hitlerian terms—the Bishop is (of course) a pedophile, homosexuals are righteous martyrs, and on it goes.
Forget “V for Vendetta” you should check out the similarities between “V” (the remake of the saga involving aliens) an the Obama admin. The aliens arrive in human/benevolent disguise proclaiming “hope.” They get the youth to do their bidding and tell us to embrace “change.” They even provide “universal healthcare.” They are media manipulators. Yet, underneath they are planning world domination.
I think you do conservatives injustice by comparing them to the tyrants in V for Vendetta. While I myself am a liberal, I have a great deal of respect for the political views of my Republican friends, whose belief about government is that it shouldn't rule our lives. As far as I'm concerned, that's the exact opposite of the values seen in the British government in V for Vendetta.
yes, yes, yes.
ReplyDeleteplease read the GN. it's awesome!
Definitely one of the many times when the book is better, although I certainly think the movie adaptation wasn't so bad as Alan Moore feels.
ReplyDeletethe book is almost ALWAYS better, but i thought they did a pretty good job with the film.

ReplyDeleteI'm planning a post on "V" but I wonder if the Visitors want to eat humans as they did in the original series.
