Ergun Caner and the Jerry Springer Show

James White posted a video regarding Ergun Caner. Caner has made terrible assertions about Calvinism in general and James White in particular. The truth is I disagree with Caner and James White has been able to not just explain why Caner is wrong in his assertions but sets the record straight. I hope Caner will honestly think about the remarks White makes and apologizes.

    From what I heard, Marcus, White isn't being completely truthful about what Canner said, and is twisting it into something else. In this video, beginning at 29:57, White claims that Caner says, "if you believe that Christ's death actually saves anyone, that view comes from the devil." What Caner actually said, beginning at 27:15, was, "Any doctrine that diminishes the omnibenvolence of God, the fact that He loves the Muslim, and died for the Muslim to be saved -- any doctrine that diminishes that is not from God, it's from the devil."

    Not that I'm a fan of Caner. I think he and White both don't take enough time to understand opposing viewpoints, only to find weaknesses to attack. The result is that they consistently and inaccurately describe and critique other's viewpoints. Not only that, the tone employed by the men isn't Christlike, in my opinion.

    I think that White completely explained what Caner was saying Brennon, you are not like the Arminians like Caner and others who deny that we can get to God without being drawn to the father. Caner accused Calvinist of diminshing the omnibenevolence of God and they don't. I mean think of the amount of time and resource White spends reaching out to Muslims. Why would he do that if he didn't believe that God loved Muslims and some of the elect are now Muslims? I think your characterization matches Caner not Jame White. I can't find a single case of White consistently and inaccurately critiquing anyone.

    Well Ergun Caner is a fraud.He has lied about being a former Muslim too. He lied about being in Turkey, he lied about mother, father and everything about his past. He was not a Muslim. I have proof and am willing to present it to anybody who asks.

    From what I can tell, you are right. He is just like an atheist with respect to Islam, who converts from Christianity as a teenager and was never born again. It's wrong tom prop him up as a poster child for Islam->Christian conversion. James White has publicly said that. As for your accusations against Caner, I would like to see any evidence you have.
