Truthbomb Apologetics: Biola Christian Apologetics on YOUTUBE
Chad of Truthbomb Apologetics has posted a great article about Apologetics lectures from Biola University. He lists several good ones. I think this one is very important because it talks about if God really expects "blind" faith from us or not.

Fistbump of the Day #9 - The Dunamis Word: 103rd Annual Holy Convocation ~ Great God, Good Lord...Say What???
Elder Harvey Burnett has posted some great reflections on the 103 Holy Convocation of the Church of God in Christ on his blog. I agree with him. There are definitely some problems. I love the Church of God In Christ. I've been a member my whole life. I'm greatly perturbed that people like Sharpton and Jakes are (or might) be allowed to speak during the convocation. They both teach contrary to the doctrines and theology of our church. The problems facing us are not just from Homosexuality and Gay marriage, but also from the Word of Faith false teachers, and not to mention Jakes denies the Trinity. I'm not sure if Sharpton knows what the Trinity is either. We need to pray. We need stand against anything that is against what the Bible teaches. Obeying God and staying with what God has revealed is much important!

Jewish Voice Ministries International: This Week's Guest on "Jewish Voice with Jonathan Bernis"
I've been waiting for this one!!! I heard that Doctors James White and Micheal Brown tag teamed in a debate on the deity of Jesus and the Trinity. These scholars are a dream team for defending these fundamental truths of Christianity. Without these, we have nothing. The debate is being aired on Jewish Voice but it's being aired in parts. The debate is between Brown and White verses Anthony Buzzard and Joseph Goode who reject the Trinity. I have linked to the video for the first part and you can see the next part starting today on TV. It should be posted on the internet soon.

Comics Career Guide: What to Expect From a Career in the Arts - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews
Comics Alliance has posted a very humorous article regarding careers in the arts in Comic book continuity
Comics Career Guide: What to Expect From a Career in the Arts - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews
A career is a tough thing to plan. A career in a world full of supervillains is even tougher. There are so many opportunities that can turn out to be traps, and seeming pitfalls that turn out to be saving moves. It's difficult to maneuver one's superheroic way to stable and comfortable employment. If you need a laugh I recommend reading this!
Last time we discussed superhero day jobs, we focused on how to have a successful profession in the sciences without ending up as a half-human-half-wildebeest monster. This time we turn our attention to that most mercurial of all careers - the arts. Find out how to work the comic book universe to be an artist, and not someone just formerly known as an artist.

The 7 Laws of Apologetics MP3 by Wes Moore - Apologetics 315
Brian Auten has posted a great audio/video by Wes Moore given seven basic rules for Apologetics. I like this. It's an interesting set of rules that I think are true because I know what has happened when I have inadvertently mistakenly broken them.
The 7 Laws of Apologetics MP3 by Wes Moore - Apologetics 315
1. The other guy doesn't know as much as you think.
2. Everybody has faith.
3. A contradiction can never be true.
4. Never say "I don't know" twice.
5. Verify everything.
6. Ask others for their reasons.
7. Never get angry

Dr. Micheal Brown is seen in the video dialoguing with several people about what Atonement is between different points of view from various religious traditions. What I love most is that he clearly and distinctly describes how atonement and freedom from sin is obtained. Thank you, Jesus!

Video: Is Homosexuality America’s Greatest Moral Crisis?
I love to see Dr. Michael Brown debate and lecture. Here is a recent debate he had with a Rabbi over homosexuality. Watch the debate at the following link. Brown wrote a great article about it and you can read it at the link at the end of this post.

Amazon.com: The Resurrection of Jesus: A New Historiographical Approach (9780830827190): Michael R. Licona: Books
I have been listening and reading resource by Michael Licona for a couple of years now. He never fails to impress. I've just heard about his book defending and examining Jesus' Resurrection from Brian Auten of Apologetics 315. Licona's research and book are extremely important. Christianity rises and falls with the fact of the Resurrection. If the Resurrection is true then Christianity is true. Pure and simple. Licona is most definitely a leading authority on the subject and I look forward to reading his book.

George W. Bush's Worst Moment? Hurricane Kanye - The Snob Blog - Danielle Belton's The Black Snob
Ex-President Bush has a book coming out soon in which he discusses his experiences and decisions while he was President. Too soon? I think so. He has an interview that will be airing next Monday. I'm shocked that Bush says that when Kanye West said that Bush "doesn't care about black people. " it was the worst moment of his Presidency. I got to admit Kanye only said what I was thinking. You know you were too. It led to one of the most shocking moments I have ever witnessed on television.

High Five of the Day #3 - The Nuisance of Biblical Logic
Alan Kurschner has posted a great quote from Phil Johnson that shows the difference between idolatry, fatalism, and blasphemy. In a very short quote, Johnson managed sum up why I reject open theism.
The Nuisance of Biblical Logic
by Phil JohnsonIf God knows every detail of the future with infallible certainty, then (by definition) the outcome of all things is already determined. And if things are predetermined but God did not ordain whatsoever comes to pass, then you have two choices:
1. A higher sovereignty belongs to some being (or beings) other than God. That is idolatry.
2. Some impersonal force did the determining. That is fatalism.
Therefore if the thinking Arminian wants to avoid both fatalism and idolatry, he or she must deny God's foreknowledge, thereby nullifying God's omniscience—in other words, they essentially undeify God. That is of course blasphemy. But that is precisely the road Open Theism takes.

Dr. Claude Mariottini - Professor of Old Testament: The Revised NIV: A Step Backward
The thing about Bible translations is that from time to time it is necessary to update them. The reasons include that as time goes on we understand more and more about Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. Also English, or whatever language you are reading changes. Dr. Mariottini has posted an inciteful article about the completed Revised NIV. I agree with him that we don't need to "help God out" by purposely inserting words for which we have not textual proof for inserting. When you compare translation to the original texts, I'm always amazed that some times they are right on in agreement and sometimes they are not. At times the KJV actually is better than the NIV and at other times, it is not. It's going to be interesting looking at the new NIV and seeing what is different.

"We Live Now In Hard Times, Not End Times." - The Snob Blog - Danielle Belton's The Black Snob
What does it mean that satirists like Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are more relevant than "legitimate" journalists? It's a scary world when you can learn more about what's going on in an hour on Comedy Central than you can in 24 hours on FOX. Last Saturday there was an event on the mall in Washington DC: the Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear. I love the title. Very apt for what is going on in America today!

Fistbump of the Day #8 - YouTube - Moorish Amazons - Black Archaeologist
Today's Fistbump goes to the Lambert brothers who run the YouTube channel TechNubian1. I love the following video. It uses pretty good animation to depict the story of how the Almoravid Moors sent their female warriors lead by Nugaymath Turquia to beseige the Spanish castle called Valencia. When they sent a group of knights to rush Turquia's lines, she had her warriors cut them down with arrows. These ladies apparently were awesome archers. I've never heard of this before. Could be why Spaniards had a myth regarding black amazons led by a queen named Califia. There is a legend that when the Spaniards first came to California, they thought what they had found the home of the Amazons and named the land after the Queen. Thus Califia became "California". Grant it, not everyone thinks this is true, but I like the story anyway. Gee. I wonder why I was never taught about Turquia in school? Why wouldn't my school system want me to know about a group of powerful black women warrior who could take down the best knights? As Arsenio Hall used to say, "Makes you go, 'Hmmm'!". The Fistbump goes to these brothers for shining the light on a little explored piece of history!

Answering Muslims: Iraqi Muslims Take Church Hostage, Murder Several Christians during Rescue Attempt
And Islam is a peaceful religion? More tolerant and kinder than other religions? Right. I realize that not all Muslims would do such a thing as take a Christian Church hostage and slaughter people, but many Muslims think that this is a justifiable action. I notice that very few news outlets are reporting this story.

Fitstbump of the Day #7 - JovanMackenzy.com - The Official Jovan Mackenzy Website
I recently heard of Jovan Mackenzy from James Whites web cast who played a song that will be on his upcoming album. Mackenzy has sampled a couple of Dr White's sermons to his music making fantastic God-glorifying music. Mackenzy works in the hip hop genre of music. Being black and thirty-five year-of-age means that I'm more familiar with the genre than Dr. White and it was plainly evident when he was talking about the song. But his heart is in the right place. I've looked up some more of his music and I was amazed - more awesome content. The only thing I have seen anything like it is the work of Hazakim. Mackenzy's music has a more Reformed bent while Hazakim's music has a more Jewish context. Both are needed and God-glorifying. Mackenzy has a new album dropping around Thanksgiving this year. You can buy his music from his website, download a few free tracks, and you can find videos set to his music on YouTube. See the video below. Today's Fistbump goes to Jovan Mackenzy.

Get Answers - Answers in Genesis
During...er....conversations with Ryan Anderson he, being an apostate atheist, doesn't like the ministry Answers in Genesis but he did mention that they had an interesting article about arguments that should not be used to oppose evolution and support creationism. I agree. Shocking! The article is really a series. I provided a link below to a list of those articles. The funny thing is I'm not sure why he brought it up considering that I didn't make any of these arguments with him or anyone to support that God created us and that we did not evolve from lower lifeforms.Of course these arguments are very bad should be avoided like the plague.

Fistbump of the Day #6 - Joseph Smith as the second Muhammad – “Joseph Smith or the sword!” | True Freethinker
Mariano Grinbank has posted an article I thoroughly enjoyed. In it he talks about a recent controversy: Did Joseph Smith actually compare himself to Muhammad and advocate Mormons use violence to spread their beliefs. Criticizing Mormonism can lead people to just accept such things whether they are true or not - I mean Joseph Smith was a heretic anyway, it figures! But this isn't honest. Did he say it or not? In this post, Mariano discusses this and examines the evidences. I think it's important to not purposely misrepresent anyone to advance your own understanding or viewpoint. Mariano always does a great job with posts like theses (as well as all of his work). More than a fistbump - here is a fistpound.
